Review of It's Such a Beautiful Day (2012) by Davey M — 11 Jan 2013
Using mostly stick figures, Don Hertzfeldt makes a movie that blows every other animated movie from last year completely out of the water. I read a review that compared it to "The Tree of Life," which is accurate, if not comprehensive--it's a sort of animated "Tree of Life" with much more existential dread, as written by Donald Barthelme and imagined by Stan Brakhage.
Something like that. Absolutely extraordinary.
