It started looking like something that would be B-movie fun, only to turn into a dull painstaking film. The creature is simply too awful looking to be funny, and the story is thin with boring characters.
The long flash-back scene in the middle was incredibly slow and pointless, and the ending made you feel like you just wasted your time.
