Review of It's a Wonderful Life (1946) by Lee P — 21 Dec 2014
Like all classic literature, it gets unwatched over time. It's enjoyed but considered silly and sweet. It is in fact very dark at times, with incredibly layered performances by Jimmy Stewart and Donna Reed in early love, in midlife disintegration, and in joyful resolution.
It is and should be a classic film and deserves attention as more than background noise in the living room.
