Review of Italian for Beginners (2000) by Helen M — 21 Jun 2008
A cute and enjoyable story centering around an Italian class in a Danish town. It is fresh and delightful to watch the characters building up relationship in a simple and natural way.
It is a Dogma film and the first one I watch. However comparing to the story, the Dogma style is actually a big weakness. A few scene are way too dark. And the first half contains too many close up and shaky camera. I basically can't focus on the story in the first 30 min. It get better afterwards.
