Review of Italian for Beginners (2000) by Pam C — 25 May 2009
A heartwarming film that is wonderful in its simplicity. People and their, lonely and tragic, lives take centre stage in this fascinating movie about a group of people who attend weekly Italian classes yet come away with so much more: friendship, love and a sense of purpose.
An exceptionally simple film in terms of directing and cinematography, but anything but simple in its exploration of the lives of people.
