Review of It Might Get Loud (2008) by Ben K — 24 Dec 2009
This elemental tribute, both loving and insightful, is not the Olympian symphony of rock's most beloved musical weapon, but instead is rather a distinguished, sophisticated and detailed look into the minds and opinions of not only the musicians but even the instrument itself.
Jimmy Page, Edge and Jack White, who are the perfect representations of each different era regarding their instrument, delve in to the personal areas of the electric guitar's soul and the personal artifacts of their own experiences, musically and emotionally.
It's not a perfect 'rockumentary' but It Might Get Loud is perfect for rock n' rollers and will especially make guitar experts geek out with glee because of its depth and affection.
