Review of It Might Get Loud (2008) by Chris W — 29 Dec 2009
I was more moved by this documentary than I expected to be. Page and David Evans (edge) are guys who in their respective ways redefined guitar sound. Page in particular - it's hard to imagine a pentatonic minor scale coming off a guitar without him.
It's great to hear them talk about music. The brief moments with Edge's overworked guitar tech talking about how he sets up for shows, the sense of just how talented these guys are and how hard they work to get the breakthrough sounds they created - they're worth the price of the movie.
My only question - and the reason I'm rathing the film only 60% - is this third brand-x little jerk who is included in the movie. Give me a break - it would be better to have ME in there talking about music - at least I wouldn't be making little punk-ass comments and acting like I'm on the same level as Page and Evans.
