Review of It Might Get Loud (2008) by Eric E — 06 Jan 2010
Interesting concept, of taking 3 musicians from 3 different styles of rock music, and making a documentary of how they feel, play, and developed their guitar techniques. In a way, the combination doesn't work, as Jack White barely considers himself "just" a guitar player.
There's one moment of brilliance, when the three jam on Zeppelin's "In My Time of Dieing," with all three guys playing slide guitar. Neat to see where Zeppelin recorded their most famous album, IV, at Headley Grange.
Part of me wishes it were a 4 hour documentary on Jimmy Page ONLY, but that'd bore more people than even the non- musicians that will watch this film. Nice little, independent documentary.
