A testament to music, It Might Get Loud is for people who love the guitar. U2, White Stripes and Zeppelin fans get a little bit of insight from each of the artists into their perspective on the guitar and where their influences lie, and in the end you get a sense of how diverse the instrument itself can be in the right hands.

Now granted, you have two arena rockers and one punk-rock demi god, so there's certainly an argument to be made that the film could have used a little more diversity, but that doesn't make the subject matter any less interesting.

I honestly don't have much interest or respect for The Edge. He seems to have talent but his style, which consists of playing power chords and squeezing the sound through literally thousands of pedals and synthesizers until you get an echoey-reverb that defines U2's tired and overused sound.

So to me, his section of the film wasn't as interesting as Jack White's or especially Jimmy Page's. The section where he talks about recording When The Levee's Break, and his section where he shows his record collection are the high points of the flick for me.

It did a good job of showing you how much Page loves what he does, and just how much he loves the music he tries to emulate. All-in-all, a good movie accentuated by some very personal reflections by 3 varied artists.
