Review of It Might Get Loud (2008) by Lee B — 19 Feb 2010
This is a great movie for fans of axe-handlers (yep, I said it) and the musicians themselves. But it does lose some trying to tell the back stories. Jack White?s gets a bit confusing while it is playing his bit ? which takes away from what he is trying to say about playing. The Edge?s makes you want to know more about how messed up it was in Ireland and how that drove him, or did it? They needed to show more of that. They really only get it right with Jimmy Page.
Where it really gets help is the banter about their songs and seeing them be fans and students of each other. They picked a good mix, and the Q&A in the extras helps bump it up a bit. But really, you still need to either be a fan or a musician to really appreciate this movie.
