Review of It Happened One Night (1958) by Sam B — 05 Jan 2012
For people who only know Capra for more serious pictures like It's A Wonderful Life and Mr. Smith Goes To Washington, It Happened One Night should show how playful and fun his work can be. Gable and Colbert are electric together, traveling up the East Coast and meeting a handful of eccentrics on the way.
One of the most arresting parts of the movie for me was the gorgeous black and white cinematography all through out. Really beautiful looking movie with nothing but fun on it's mind.
