Review of It Happened One Night (1958) by Steff A — 25 May 2013
It hard for me to find the words to describe this masterpiece. Not that this is a hard movie to describe. It's a good old fashioned romantic comedy and one of the best at that. It's just that I've been writing reviews for almost three movies every day lately and I've also been watching three movies every day so I'm a little tired.
What the heck. I'll give it a try. This is a fine movie with a "boy meets girl" premise. So the boy meets the girl and they try to get to New York. While on the road they start to bond and the relationship progresses.
The movie has all the elements for the comedy part of its genre and the right chemistry between the leading actors for the romantic part. All the supporting ones play it just fine and Capra delivers a fine picture in the end.
This is one of those comedies that will keep you on your toes from the first moment to the last and will certainly make you see life in a brighter light.
