Review of It Happened One Night (1934) by Maria U — 19 Nov 2011
I had heard so much about this film, I thought it would be another of those over-hyped sacred cows. But what a delightful movie! I'd say it is the grandmother of all romantic comedies, and I can see a myriad of subs.
..equent films being influenced by it. Of course you know where the movie is going, but all the trhill is in the ride. Quite a simple story, but filled with crisp dialogue, and hilarious performances by Colbert and Gable.
Well deserved place in the pantheon of classics. Or near the Walls of Jericho?
