Review of It Happened One Night (1934) by Debra O — 09 Mar 2013
The only film Clark Gable won an oscar for. This is one of the great screwball comedies of the 1930's and I highly recommend it. Gable and Colbert have a wonderful chemistry and the scenes during the bus rides are well played by all.
Highlights include the bus riders' singing of "The Daring Young Man on the Flying Trapeze" and the roadside camp scene with Gable and Colbert trying to avoid being recognized by the police--"Stop bawling!!.
..Stop bawling!!" Hilarious!
