Review of It Happened One Night (1934) by Clay B — 04 Jun 2011
''-Who are you?
-I'm the whippoorwill that cries in the night. I'm the soft morning breeze that caresses your lovely face.''.
Can really see how it shaped the following romantic screw balls in its archetypical narrative, but to me the relationship between Gable and Colbert went way over and stopped engaging, especially since it felt like that Capra was a bit insecure himself, trying to keep the audience by introducing the element of suspense with the father looking for the couple.
