Review of It Could Happen to You (1994) by Catherine H — 01 Sep 2009
Nicholas Cage and Bridget Fonda really hit it off in this wonderful romantic comedy crossed drama about a cop who is married to completely the wrong girl and wins the Lottery! From this point on his life chages forever and for the better I might add!
I never saw Nicholas Cages' character with that of Muriel (Rosie Perez) Shes too loud too obnoxious and way over doing the whole "Bronx" issue, but if you take all of that out you have a wonderful storyline and a deffinate sit down and watch with your boyfriend movie. He can enjoy the cop side and the gambling type side, where the lady can enjoy the romantic comedy of it all.
The story peices together really easily and it's lovely to follow, to watch it develop and finally grow into a happy ending. One thing I will say is that it feels to have the "edited" look to it, as if you can see where they've cut bits out...But even so this film is amazing, wonderfully told with a lovely twist at the end.
I deffinately recommend this film to any Nicholas Cage lover!
