Review of It Comes at Night (2017) by Lina M — 07 Jun 2017
A nicely filmed movie. A slow burn with a consistent unchanging tone that results in a predictable and uneventful conclusion. I want to like it, but I've seen this concept various times. It would have been better as shorter and sweeter low budget indie film.
I found nothing new or pushing the threshold of brilliance in this film. Persistently trying to provide a layer of cerebral thinking, but portraying a drab and linear perspective, that left me not questioning anything.
Only disappointed that as hard as they try to add depth, I saw and felt only a one-dimensional type of story. I want to like it, but would not recommend it.
