Review of It Comes at Night (2017) by Dave S — 11 May 2018
"It Comes at Night" is an interesting and for the most part tension-filled film. It is directed in a fascinating way. The world the movie creates is interesting and does raise some questions.
While most questions aren't answered and the movie is pretty ambiguous, I thought it was worth watching due to how much tension the movie created. I didn't find the movie to be particularly scary but instead, I thought it kept me on the edge of my seat.
The movie has more questions than answers and is kind of a drag at times. The structure starts to feel pretty repetitive and the scariest moments in the movie aren't all that effective due to a reason you'll see if you decide to watch it.
If you are interested in a more artistic horror/thriller, you should check it out, but there are definitely better films in the genre out there.
