Review of It Comes at Night (2017) by Sasha R — 29 Aug 2017
I am fan of psychological thrillers, so I started watching with enthusiasm. But from the beginning, I felt something in the story was not fitting. If there was a contagious disease, why was there food shortage, but no shortage of fuel.
Why did strange people started to shoot them. Wouldn't it be safer to hide to protect from contracting the disease? Paul said he had the only key to outside door, so how did the little boy get it, manage to open the door and all latches, go out in the middle of night in the dark and not be scared, touch the dead or wounded dog, contract the disease and come back inside? Sleep walking? Not believable.
Many holes in the story like that. It would have had more scary effect without the sound effects. Sound effects only induce artificial fear. Not very effective. Paul's acting was very good but not enough to make it a good movie.
I'd give the this movie a 4.5 out of ten.
