Review of It Comes at Night (2017) by Andrew F — 20 Jul 2017
Despite not having high expectations on this (blame the audience score), the sheer half of the tomatometer for the audience score, is certainly very mislead why for it is so low, the originality, directing and surprising acting is worth more than the injustice that is 44%.
Being swamped to being a Horror film, It Comes At Night could have easily surpass as yet another let down film in addition to the genre, going along with entries from this year such as such blunders like 'Rings' and 'Bye Bye Man', this feature manages too establish a firm divide between being average to being superior.
Being much different to many films from this franchise and dishing up a original story line delivers the audience a chilling film, in the sense of story line but does supply a jump or two.
Even on a low budget, around the area of $2.5-5 million area, low key, it proves once again, a large budget is not required for a superior film. And not even well known actors to gain a strong performance from each cast member (as well as not needing a large cast).
Final verdict - 7.8/10 or A-.
