It is not scary.
It is not original, to say it has been done before is stating the obvious.
But it has been done better. much... much better.
This is everything good about the book with all the crap and er... that scene, left out.
It is everything great about Stephen King. Think stand by me with a creepy clown monster.
I went to the cinema twice, first time I couldn't get over Skarsgard as Pennywise, I just had Tim curry's magnificent performance too close to my heart. but second time I just went with it and enjoyed it.
There was some poor editing, literally chunks seem missing, a kid separates from the group like.. literally one minute he is with them the next he is in a room on his own. but thats my only criticism. all the actors were great, the kids did so well as did Skarsgard.
My favourite film of 2017 x5*****.
