This film comes from the director of the movie, Mama. Just that is already a bad start. This film is a remake/adaptation of the Stephen King novel of the same title. Now, let me get into the review. I saw this movie two times, the first time I just took it in, and the second time watched it as a movie.

This movie in my opinion, is worth skipping. Now let's start with the cinematography. The cinematography for this film is astounding and quite beautiful. The shot composition, lighting, etc. looks great.

The acting by the child actors is also quite great. Now, the part of the clown. Pennywise's design in my opinion is quite awful. He looks downright retarded, and not scary at all. They went for the 'modern' style, by making him look over the top and all demonic, instead of an unexplainable force of nature like the book and the original 1990's miniseries.

The other thing is that the clown didn't have personality like the original, as he came off just straight up creepy, in your face, and over the top. The original, he was more sly and cunning, more manipulative.

This one, is just going for the shock and the over the top gore, and jump scares instead of actual scares and suspense. This film didn't scare me at all, nor have any element of surprise or dread.

This film's way of scaring you is a really noticeable CGI clown face ripping off a 6 year old's arm. It wasn't scary, nor accurate to the novel. Overall this film falls flat with a very weak climax and over the top imagery, and is not worth your time.
