Review of It (2017) by Mike C — 24 Sep 2017
Wasn't suspenseful. My wife and I both laughed at it. Not terrifying. I expected a lot more from the hype. The kids were good, but they weren't enough to save this.
A few things that bugged me at the start.
1) In Bill's room, there is a Gremlins poster over his bed. This version of It takes place in 1988. Gremlins was 1984. It wouldn't be the cool or even dorky thing that a kid his age in '88 would have over his bed.
2) The TV set in the Denbrough living room doesn't look like an 80s TV set.
That type of stuff kills the period piece aesthetic.
