Review of It (2017) by Courtney M — 06 Sep 2017
I had the pleasure of going to see this at the Alamo Drafthouse Theatre in my area. I was scared of coming to see this movie not only because my first round with Pennywise the Dancing Clown had left my older sister and I deeply Coulrophobic, but because I was afraid that it would break my heart just like the remake of Nightmare on Elm Street did. Luckily, both this film and the venue I chose was flat out amazing to say the least. Amazingly acted, great music chosen, great cast, and it gave a fresh perspective. If you hear naysayers the only two things this movie fell short on was 1. Pennywise Isn't Tim Curry, and I understand I must live with that., we all must. Won't lie, first half hour of the movie I stayed loyal to Tim's character, before I caved and accepted this new version to have many great aspects to them as well. 2. Obviously this film is different than the first film and both films are vastly different from the book. one must go in with an open mind.
Over all - A- only because I do still miss Tim Curry <3.
