Isle of Dogs - 4 out of 5 -.
Isle of Dogs is a stop-motion animated comedy film written, produced and directed by Wes Anderson. Set in a dystopian near-future Japan, the film follows a young boy who goes in search of his dog after the whole species is banished to an island due to an illness outbreak. The film's ensemble voice cast includes Bryan Cranston, Edward Norton, Bill Murray, Jeff Goldblum, Greta Gerwig, Frances McDormand, Courtney B. Vance, Fisher Stevens, Harvey Keitel, Liev Schreiber, Bob Balaban, Scarlett Johansson, Tilda Swinton, F. Murray Abraham, Frank Wood, Kunichi Nomura and Yoko Ono. (Wikipedia).
This film is a thing of beauty the amount of work that goes into Stop-motion is amazing. If you enjoyed Fantastic Mr. Fox or any other Wes Anderson films then you will love this as it follows the same style and humor. The story it tells is interesting and original.
This film is a must see I recommend seeing it in the theaters such as at your local Goodrich Quality Theaters. Its beauty is something to see on the big screen I have already watched it twice and it got better the second time. When it come to home video this will be a buy on 4K or blu-ray just so you can appreciate the amount of work that goes into these films and the details into how to achieve effects like a dust cloud from a fight that breaks out.
