Review of Isle of Dogs (2018) by Annie S — 22 Apr 2018
Hands down my favorite Wes Anderson film. The dry comedy and wit of the dogs is laugh out loud at points, and the plain fact that this whole thing is stop motion is truly amazing. It has a great story, which is also very moving at points.
For anyone that has a dog, the love the young boy has for his will feel very familiar. Clearly some underlying messages about acceptance, corruption, government failures etc. which are important to pick up on as well.
But really it's an enjoyable movie about how much a boy loves his dog, which is perfectly fine.
