Review of Isle of Dogs (2018) by Ethan V — 20 Jul 2018
Stop motion animation is among one of the most underrated and underused modes of filmmaking in the world today. Yet, Wes Anderson excels with it in flying colors. This film is beautiful. The direction is masterful and the stop motion animation is truly something to marvel over.
Isle of Dogs is a triumph in stop animation as an art. My only issue with the film is that the Japanese characters lack subtitles. This is because it makes me as an audience feel as though I can't relate with them because I can't understand what they're saying directly.
