Review of Ishtar (1987) by Scott K — 22 Nov 2008
Not nearly as bad as it's reputation, although it is heavily flawed. Half of is genuinely funny, and the other half is so misguided and loony that it ends up being funny anyways. The plot is a complete mess and makes very little sense.
It had it's dull moments, but overall it was a thoroughly fun experience. The ending was pretty amazing. It's a shame how hype and gossip can literally kill a movie regardless of it's quality (although I'm sure the uneven quality here didn't help.
Still, it's sad).
