Relentless film. Grimy film. Well realised film.
And Vincent Cassel. I'll never be a fan in the obvious sense, but I can't deny a certain wonder at the fact that he's managed to appear in some of the oddest and most difficult French films of the last 15 years. There isn't a film amongst them that I'd rate as one of my favorites, but neither is there one which I haven't frowned and shivered at.
If only he'd release an album of Euro funk disco Gainsbourg standards I'd probably get him ... but til them I'll go on admiring him, almost reluctantly, from affar...
An actor of stange pedigree. Thankfully.
