Review of Irreversible (2002) by Ishara J — 21 Aug 2010
LE TEMPS DETRUIT TOUT; true, but the movie is definitely too disturbing. There were two main disturbing scenes in the movie ; 9minutes rape scene and the gruesome murder where a person was killed by hitting his head with a fire extinguisher brutally. You will not be seated ,watching those scenes,if you were in a theater. One would walk out of it out of pure disgust.
Not only that the story is told in a reverse chronological pattern which emphasizes the theme of the movie; "Time destroys all the things", Camera direction is also very different throughout the movie. Scenes have been shot in a way that the viewer will end up having migraine at the end of the movie. I almost threw up myself.
