Review of Irreversible (2002) by Alan L — 21 Nov 2010
A film that you will simply NEVER forget. Ive tortured myself over the last few days thinking of what rating I should give it on Flixster. Basically my dilema is thus, technically and aesthetically this is a master piece, narrativly this is original and thought provoking.
However, THAT scene I can never see myself watching again (Unless I have to, for watever reason) so as much as I liked aspects, this is never a film ill chose to return to. So in my bizzaro world of movie rating I was at a loss on how to rate it, particuarly as I take 'rewatchability' in high account on reviews.
But in the end ive had to disregard it and basically put it like this, like 'The Human Centipede' (except the human centipede aint anywhere near as good in my opinion) its one of those films you HAVE to watch purely because it is unlikely youll ever see anything like it again.
And im gonna leave it at that.
