Review of Irreversible (2002) by Alex S — 07 Mar 2015
As usual with Gaspar Noe, the extreme content seems to be his idea of good cinema, when really it's not. The entire infamous scene in this movie isn't nearly as bad as people say, probably because I didn't care about the character at all.
Also, don't be confused, this movie is just a stereotypical revenge flick told in reverse and therefore isn't all that original in its overarching story. However, Noe does have a certain style to his camerawork that makes the atmosphere worth experiencing, not to mention an excellent central performance from Vincent Cassel.
