Review of Irreversible (2002) by Dan H — 12 Apr 2015
Disturbing, brutal, devastating, hopeless, and surprisingly beautiful at odd intervals. This film about a young woman in the hours before her brutal rape, and the effects it has on the men who love her is unforgettable and quite possibly the best (and most realistic) film about rape I've seen.
It's very sad. The whole film is played in reverse, and the cinematography and camera movement is gorgeous but dizzying and nauseating. Another masterpiece from Noe.
