Review of Irreversible (2002) by Jason J — 02 Jun 2009
A French movie of revenge told in reverse which in itself is original and unique. The camera angles that the director incorporates can get a little bit disorientating at times but you'll get used to it.
The main talking points which make this movie so unforgettable are the 2 extreme acts we witness. One has a man being repeatedly smashed in the face with a fire extinguisher and the other is an infamous long, harrowing and traumatic 9 minute rape sequence which will unsettle and sicken you and will make some of you switch off.
It's a difficult movie to watch given the subject matter so it's not to be recommended to everybody. Definitely not for the faint hearted.
