Irreversible became one of my favourite films ever, after I emerged from the cinema in 2002 with my girlfriend, exhausted.
The fact that the plummeting depths of violence are equalled by the firmament of Cassel and Bellucci's intimacy and love, is the mark of focused filmmaker.
