I don't wanna be the bitter son of a **** when it comes to a movie that involves a plot about a person facing a disease such as cancer, but it's painful to see something as distressing being washed out as a simple romantic story.

The only truly salvageable point about it is that the lead character dies. At least making it clear that such a story will not always have a happy ending.

I would recommend instead 50/50, starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt.

A much better movie on the subject. Even with what elements that story didn't take that seriously.

The emotional manipulation of this one is all that it can offer.
