I can't put my finger on it, but there's something about the sight of Paul Giamatti as King John that left me howling in every frame he appears in. Never one to phone it in, Giamatti seems invested in the material and chomps up the scenery.
Those who like to see their period pieces with bloodshed spraying the camera should find this a rousing diversion.
