For the potential that this film had, it's a little disappointing. They seemed a little too pre-occupied with showing gore that they didn't even care that much of the battle scenes were like carbon copies.
There also isn't too much substance in the script to cater for the non-battle scenes. But the most disappointing thing to me was the casting choice of Paul Giamatti. I'm a fan, but he simple did not fit the role.
