Review of Ironclad (2011) by Tye D — 08 Feb 2012
Though the story telling was less than top notch , the fight scenes & special effects more than made up for it . Centering on an actual battle for a strategically important castle during the notorious rule of England's King John II , this movie is historically correct ( though not always accurate ) & with it's superb cast , does justice to a long forgotten struggle for the "Rights of Man" .
One small note about the "official" review , it's NOT about a " A ragtag group of Knights Templar " , there's only ONE FORMER Knight's Templar , the rest of the defenders are a motley crew of soldiers bound together by their respect for ( &/or pay from ) the Baron of Albany (who opposes the King ) .
I put it in the same class as Gangs of New York & Braveheart .
