Review of Ironclad (2011) by Lorenzo V — 15 Aug 2011
Great violent, gut-wrenching battle scenes (some of the most violent and shocking I have seen in a while) and not much else as once again the American's take liberties with English history. Should be a better film with this cast but, Paul Giamatti just looks like he's escaped from a loony bin, James Purefoy (Rome) looks pissed off, Brian Cox looks knackered and Derek Jacobi wonders around as if lost or on the wrong set, the rest of the cast also look as though they can't be bothered, overall disappointing in a film that could have offered much more.
