Review of Iron Man 3 (2013) by German P — 18 Apr 2015
Previously I gave Iron Man 3 a two star review. I think on reflection following a recent revisit it just about scrapes a three this time around but it is definitely the weakest of the Iron Man'trilogy'. It has all the stuff you expect from a Marvel film like the action and the comedy but this one comes with an introspective and reflective Tony Stark. Despite intentions to the contrary I don't think that Iron Man really gets inside the character of Stark in the way that it wants to. The soul-searching are reltively fleeting and never really ring true. Perhaps it is the way Downey Jr has portrayed the character up until now but it always feels like there is a quip on the end of his tongue.
The villains are perhaps the least memorable of the saga so far and it does feel like this particular thread is stretching a point. It is adequate fare but that is all.
