I actually thought the movie was ok but not great. Tony Stark was stuck with that partially functioning prototype suit throughout the movie and being beat down for much of the movie. I didn't like that Mandarin/Extremis story line either.
The CG effects were pretty good but there were some dull moments in the movie. I actually liked Man of Steel more than Iron Man 3. I'm not biased towards DC or Marvel, but I think Superman MOS did better.
