Review of Iron Man 3 (2013) by Htgamer — 24 Apr 2018
Iron Man 3 is a decent MCU movie. Everything is better than Iron Man 2 (but not as good as the 1st movie). The plot, the story, the characters, the humor. But in the end there is the ultimate sin regarding the Mandarin.
OK, Mandarin is maybe too fantastical for the MCU. So they first mock the character by making Ben Kingsley's character Trevor Slattery (a drug-addicted actor who needs money) pose as the Mandarin, a villain who doesn't actually exist. And then you have the movie's main villain Aldrich Killian admit he's the Mandarin. And later on there is a Marvel short movie where we are informed that the real Mandarin (who hasn't appeared in the MCU again) is angry at Trevor Slattery for impersonating him. Thas some f***ing mess.
Seriously though, the movie is good to watch, but the whole Mandarin mess drags the movie down into mediocrity.
