Review of Iron Man (1951) by Johnathon W — 23 Mar 2018
Solid comic book adaptation that tells a compelling origin story, though lacking in an interesting villain (no fault to the actors, who do the best with what little time given). Nevertheless, Favreau's superb direction, brilliant visual effects and excellent cast make's this one of the best superhero films ever made.
The highlight, of couse, is Robert Downey Jr.'s brilliant star turn as Tony Stark/Iron Man, finally giving him a role worthy of his talents and showing his star power. It's no wonder he become the cornerstone of the MCU for years to come.
