Review of Iron Man (1931) by Ivan J — 29 Oct 2018
Until May 2008, the few releases this year that I've seen ranged from below average to downright rubbish with the exception of two movies. Playing a superhero especially a guy in his forties was a huge risk for Marvel to take yet, since the universe has moved phase to phase, they clearly done good. I would have thought that it would be like one of those crappy, low budget, sci-fi, robot films, but I was wrong by two adjectives. It was inspiring, great and exiting. Robert Downey Jr. portrays smart technician billionaire and media lover Tony Stark in a comidal charming way.
In the last couple of years, comic book based superhero movies have had a mission to accomplish, and that's kick starting a franchise. Iron Man has now made it, Marvel (the creator of the movie) has already made plans for the next ten years and probably is going to win an Oscar in at least one of those movies. There was no flaws in the film and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I would age it 12 for violence and terrorism.
Grade: A-.
