Review of Irma la Douce (1963) by Pablo Martin P — 14 Jan 2004
Not the best of Wilder, but how you can evade happiness when Jack Lemmon is paired with Shirley McLane?
Saw it in my course about Billy Wilder, and I must do a kind of paper about that. Ideas? What about the relationship between money and sex (an love) in Wilder's movies? The subject is there in almost each one of his creations: Some Like It Hot, Foreing Affair, Sabrina, etc etc. In Irma we found a reverse relationship (she trying to bring him money to keep him out of the market) that later is reversed (he "dying" in the market to bring her money to keep her out of the streets). Maybe I publish here the paper when is done. I really need to keep up this diary. Someone out there knows how to become a movie critic? I need at least to publish my reviews here. This is my first comment in something here, is not a review. I promise that each time that you found my name in a review it would be worth of reading. Bye.
