Review of Irma la Douce (1963) by Travis H — 16 Feb 2004
Irma La Douce was great for the first 2/3 of the movie. A funny plot line and a hilarious Jack Lemmon kept me entertained. But then the movie just kept going downhill and I thought it would never end. A hokey ending and bad twists in the film were the main reasons for the downfall.
Overall though, it was pretty good and Jack Lemmon really shined, and a good performance from Shirley MacLaine as well (she was nominated for an Oscar).
C+:fresh: just barely.
