When I said I wanted to pay to purposely watch a bad movie, I was just kidding until I saw this borefest. One (1) star was given for the martial arts fighting scene which was kinda cool but that couldn't keep this movie afloat. This review will not talk about the real history of Ip Man. From the top, the movie has a very weird plot. There was like 5 plots all at once and it made me confused and rechecked my sanity. Although everything was connected, but please keep to 1 storyline. It was too much to handle. All the storylines were meh. It made me feel nothing. I didn't laugh, I didn't feel sympathy, nothing. I'm trying to watch a movie, not to learn History. I was like, "Why?", "Why?", "Why?", "Why?". There were a lot of questions in my mind that still left unanswered. For example, why does Mike Tyson want the school at the first place? Good feng shui? It was left unanswered There wasn't any character development and the movie introduced totally forgettable characters. Remember the trailer showed you and maybe convinced you and epic fight between Ip Man & Mike Tyson. Prepare to be disappointed. There were a lot of fights but non-memorable including the MIke Tyson one. P.S. Mike Tyson can't act. I'm not sure about you but I can't take Donnie Yen's acting, he has a very weird and scary like a pedophilia smile. The actress who acted as his wife was horrible too. The director really loves the Arc Shot. It made me want to vomit because it made me nauseas. I'm not sure about you but when I saw this, the children's voices doesn't seem real. It feels like they re-recorded it. Although the fight scenes were ok, it still wasn't great. Wasn't cool at all.

I'm not sure what is the hype all about this trilogy and I can be certain that I'll totally skip if there was a 4th, 5th, 6th, etc. I'm super tired of kung-fu movies especially if it's set in the historic era. If you're planning to watch this, skip it. If you watched it and thought it was good, are you kidding me? .5 star for the martial arts fighting scene and .5 for effort.
