The fighting scenes were incredible. However, the movie was trying so hard to get me to care about Master Ip, and the movie relied on that empathy, and I wasn't feeling it. It's maybe the language barrier, because it is hard to identify with someone when you can't tell how good of an actor they actually are.
But I don't think the language was a problem because I LOVE foreign movies and some of my most emotional and affecting movies have spoken languages alien to me. Oh well. I thought this movie was good but not great.
