Review of Ip Man (2008) by Srikanth M — 03 Sep 2012
This biopic of Ip Man is classy and packs a punch. Set in the time of the Japanese invasion, the plot almost resembles that of our own Lagaan with themes like foreign subjugation, oppression and, eventual, redemption.
Not as in your face jingoistic as Lagaan but as powerful, the film succeeds in offering some great kung fu action and buttresses the myth of Ip Man. Nice movie.
